SINCE 2000

#09 – Liran Raviv

$132.00

About the work: Wengerman House and the café that was located on its street level (initially “Café Sapir” and later the famous “Café Noga”) were a distinct Tel Aviv symbol — a vibrant cultural center that embodied the glory days of the 1960s and 1970s.

Over the years, it was forgotten, its fame faded, and the place changed its face — until it was eventually neglected and abandoned.

The saddest episode came very recently, in June 2025, when during Operation Am Kalavi, an Iranian missile hit the very foot of the building and destroyed it. Perhaps this is not the final chapter in the building’s story, and there is hope for restoring the beautiful structure and reviving the atmosphere and culture that once flourished there.

Liran Raviv is an illustrator and graphic designer, living in Tel Aviv and deeply connected to its streets, hidden corners, people, and history.
