#01 – Yaron Levy

$88.00

Bauhaus comes to Tel Aviv: I chose to photograph the iconic wooden cube game designed by Alma Siedhoff-Buscher in 1923, while she was studying at the Bauhaus. One of the models offered for construction on the game’s packaging is the ship.

The International Style in architecture came from Europe to the shores of Tel Aviv in the 1930s, bringing with it the spirit of European modernism to the modern city of Tel Aviv. The Bauhaus fit the young city like a glove.

I tried to reflect the situation of being between Europe and Israel – between West and East, in the spirit of Bauhaus minimalism.
