Description
Alexandre Rotsztein is a French-born artist who began as a graphic designer and later moved to abstract and portrait art. His unique pixel-art portraits are meticulously hand-drawn using pencil grids and felt-tip pens. The result invites viewers to reconstruct the image intuitively from afar.
In his work Alexandre makes a graphic connection from Tel Aviv to Bauhaus: The grid system and abstraction reflect Bauhaus visual logic through a contemporary lens. His intention is to create a permanent effect of surprise and astonishment when viewed from a distance. Unlike a photograph, where the image is frozen, this technique allows the viewer’s imagination to intuitively recompose the portrait.
